By changing a theme’s CSS, you can change the appearance of your WordPress menu.
Tip: It is recommended to create a child theme before making any changes to the code of a WordPress theme.
- First, log in to your WordPress Dashboard.
- On the left sidebar menu, go to Appearance > Theme Editor
- In style.css add the changes you would like to make. Below is an example of how to change the color of the font.
.primary-navigation { color: blue; }
The above code will change the color of the menu text to blue instead of what it’s default color is. You can change it to any color you like using the name of the color, RGB values, or the hexadecimal color code. - Once you have finished making your changes, click Update File.
